Subsidy for charging points for owners’ associations

As a professional real estate agent, I am always looking for ways to improve properties and provide modern facilities that meet the ever-changing needs of residents. One development that deserves attention is the rise of electric cars and the need for charging points in parking spaces.

Starting from January 1, 2024, the Subsidy Scheme for Owners’ Associations (SVVE) offers two valuable subsidies for charging electric cars in parking spaces of an Owners’ Association (VvE). This is an excellent opportunity for Owners’ Associations, housing cooperatives, and residential communities with their own parking facilities to contribute to a sustainable future.

Subsidy for Charging Point Advisory: The first subsidy program focuses on charging point advisory services. This entails professional advice from an expert advisor registered with the Chamber of Commerce. The advisory service offers insights into future-proofing the implementation of charging points in the VvE’s own parking facilities. It includes an on-site inspection and provides relevant information for the association’s members.

To qualify, certain conditions must be met, such as having an owner-occupant in the VvE, the advisory report being prepared after October 5, 2021, estimation of charging demand for a minimum of 10 years, adherence to fire safety guidelines, cost distribution, and more.

The subsidy covers 75% of the advisory costs (including VAT), up to a maximum of €1,500. This can significantly assist in obtaining professional charging point advice for the VvE.

For more information on the subsidy amount and conditions for the year 2023, I refer you to this link.

Subsidy for Basic Charging Infrastructure: The second subsidy program focuses on installing basic charging infrastructure within the VvE. This enables residents to install charging points and promotes a safe and smart way of charging for electric vehicles.

Conditions for this subsidy include having an owner-occupant in the VvE, submitting a signed quotation with technical specifications, proof of ownership of parking spaces, and a positive decision from the General Meeting of Members.

The subsidy amounts to €100 per parking space, and applications for this subsidy must be made after receiving the quotation and before the start of implementation.

Applications and More Information: The application process and required documents are explained on the SVVE website. Upon submission of your application, you will receive an acknowledgment, and the decision on subsidy allocation will be made within 13 weeks.

As a real estate agent, I applaud initiatives like these because they not only contribute to the sustainability of our homes but also enhance the comfort and future of real estate. Seize this opportunity and prepare your VvE’s parking facilities for electric vehicles!
